I love walking along the Santa Fe River in winter, especially late in the afternoon. Everything is stripped down to the bare essentials: the white trunks and branches of the Cottonwoods, the subtle color in the tall grasses and the deep browns and reds in the earth. A very special time indeed.

We didn't get much snow this year, so the one day we did, I took advantage and headed to my favorite trail. It was a gorgeous day and the snow was plentiful. I had the trail all to myself, such a treat!
